    Squareroot Planters

    Aluminium planters handmade in England

    Exceptional planters for exceptional spaces

  • Squareroot planters are handmade to order so each and

every project is unique to its location.

The planters are designed around the original Squareroot planting system and carry a lifetime guarantee on the aluminium structure.

They are the perfect combination of beauty, function and engineering.

  • Planting system

A series of interchangeable inner pots enables swift effortless seasonal changes to planting schemes. Alternatively the planters can be filled conventionally.

A tree container sits upon the lower rails. Two cradles are then positioned across the upper rails forming a platform for the interchangeable seasonal pots to locate.

    Conventional planting

A sturdy slatted base is fitted, followed by rigid insulating panels in the walls of the planter. We recommend covering the base with planting felt, followed by a layer of drainage material, before filling with planting medium.

'After spending months searching for our ‘perfect’ planters we found SquareRoot at the Chelsea Flower Show. From our very first meeting, to subsequent home visits we were utterly impressed with both directors, Simon and Karen – nothing was too much for them. Most importantly, we felt that they not only produced top of the range planters but genuinely cared about true customer satisfaction.

The finished products are beautiful – and doubtless will outlast us. We recommend them wholeheartedly.'

    FAQs

What are Squareroot planters made from?

Our planters are 100% aluminium with stainless steel fixings. Many of the planters have a lead capping detail which has been treated with patination oil to slow the process of oxidisation.

How do I move the planters?

By removing the inner pots the weight of the planter is dramatically reduced and the planters can then be lifted into position.

    Why aluminium?

Aluminium is non corrosive so we chose it for its longevity over a traditional wooden planter. It is also light weight making it perfect for roof terraces and balconies.

How do I look after the painted finish?

Both the wet spray and powder coated finish can be hosed down to remove any grit and dirt, if necessary use a mild detergent solution and a non abrasive cloth for stubborn marks

Can I tailor the height and style of my planter?

As all the planters are made to order they can be sized to fit your exact requirements. Similarly the planters can be built to accommodate irregular ground conditions such as slopes, lips and steps.

I have large specimen trees which will need to be overwintered.

Any of the capped leg or finial planters can be made with a detachable side panel. This means that large tree tubs can be removed easily, without disturbing the plant's root system.

    What colours are available?

We can wet spray the planters in any colour and are happy to advise on our most popular colours. In addition, we now offer three sheen levels, gloss, satin and matt. If you are having the powder coated finish a RAL or British standard reference is required and come in semi-gloss or very low sheen level of 10%

Can I buy extra inner pots?

The planters all come as standard with two sets of inner pots. Extra pots are available from stock.

How long will I have to wait before my order is ready?

Our lead times are usually 4-6 weeks. but can increase to 8-12 weeks during particularly busy periods

Do you do site visits and surveys?

We are happy to come to site to measure and survey. Charges apply  which are redeemable against your planter order.
